    The Jungle of Monsterwood

An ancient city in a valley of the Molakallah mountains, is now one of the most unexplored regions known as Monsterwood. Long before that catastrophic day, it was a different story. Back then, Mani Depu as it was known, was a sacred city in an absolutely intact, undisturbed, pristine state, buried in a rainforest so remote and untouched that the beings who lived there had never seen Maheekanu people before their arrival a few hundred years ago.

The Mahru welcomed the Maheekanu as their own people, taught them the ways of the land and showed them how it could provide them nourishment, both physical and spiritual, if they only understood the complex web of life that thrived there.

For centuries, Mahru and Maheekanu lived peacefully in balance with the natural world. A Sacred shrine to the Maheekanu’s Goddess was built in the heart of Mani Depu with the Mahru’s help and blessing.

A true balance of Mahru and Maheekanu was achieved, but not all were seeking balance.

Tiberius blamed the murders on the Mahru, now referred to as “monsters”, and he forbade travel to Mani Depu. Despite the shrine’s beauty, power, and mystery, Tiberius declared, it was far too dangerous to enter. However, there was no penalty for disobeying this edict, for any who entered the forbidden zone, known now as Monsterwood, vanished into the jungle’s depths.

Taking place fourteen years after the king and queen of Magog met mysterious, violent deaths at the hands of a group of deformed outcasts known as monsters, a new ruler is about to be crowned. Two young people from completely different backgrounds–Jovis, an orphaned independent young boy, and the Princess Jocosta, herself the courageous, willful heir to the throne–reluctantly join forces on a journey into the dark and forbidding forest known as Monsterwood. There, they will discover the truth about what really happened in those dark days of betrayal and murder…and begin to fulfill their own destinies.

    THE CITY OF MAGOG

A prosperous city-state inhabited by a blue skinned humanoid race known as the Maheekanu, the city has been ruled by generations of kings and queens.

The rulers of Magog have always been critical in maintaining the balance of the planet’s natural environment and their need to produce food for it’s inhabitants.  These inhabitants include not only the Maheekanu, but also a number of other ancient races, collectively known as the Mahru. The Mahru are a kindly, intelligent group of beings  who serve the goddess at her many shrines throughout the city. Since the uprising, the Mahru are banned from travel to their jungle homeland of Mani Depu, now known as Monsterwood. These days, Mahru have been relegated to lower caste citizens, required to live in the lower levels of the walled city, in various neglected enclaves such as Golgol Alley

Destruction spills out of the city.

The Zumari, fearless and loyal fighters to the Regent, seek to return his niece, Jocosta, and punish those who have sheltered her in Monsterwood. Their orders are simple: burn Monsterwood to the ground.

As the young Jovis and Jocasta ready a small army of rebels to unseat the Regent, they must overcome the physical and mental challenges they face. Monsterwood is an unforgiving school, and the Zumari are the fiercest fighters in the land.

The road to the city is hard and strewn with the bodies of those slain by the Zumari. The rebels bear witness to this destruction as they make their way to their final destination: Revolution.

The Regent plots from his throne, secretly guided by his spectral council, as he awaits the arrival of a mysterious and deadly stranger, known only as the Northman, a warrior whose only joy comes from killing.

Jovis and Jocasta must lead the rebels to the city, for a battle is coming, and not all those who enter will survive.
